Job opportunity: Software & Electronics Engineer

• Based in the Southampton region, with partial remote / flexible working possible

We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated software / electronics engineer who wishes to join a dynamic development team working on new software and electronics for world-leading autonomous water and environmental sensing technologies with applications in science, sustainable development and mitigation of climate change.

About us:

ClearWater Sensors is a dynamic start-up company that has spun-out of the University of Southampton and the UK National Oceanography Centre. We develop, manufacture and deploy world-leading environmental sensing devices for aquatic systems. Applications span scientific study of the oceans, rivers and lakes; sustainable management of aquaculture, industrial and municipal water, carbon dioxide and climate change, and offshore renewable energy. Our company has a range of exciting R&D projects in applications, sensing systems, integration with autonomous and robotic vehicles, wireless communication and new sensing devices. 

About you:

You are a talented and adaptable professional software design engineer who is able to develop and optimise embedded firmware (embedded C for Cortex M4), graphical user interfaces (C/Win32) and other software. You will also be willing to work with electronic hardware (though it is not essential that you have prior experience or are expert in this). 

Essential skills & expriences:

You have a degree in a relevant technical discipline (Masters or Bachelors at 2.1 or above) such as Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Maths or Physics. You have experience in software engineering. 

Salary:

Dependent on applicant profile: Guide salary £40-65k full time, pro-rata if part time, depending on experience with employer pension contributions, 8 public holidays + 25 days annual leave.
